COVID-19 and your super

This is a time of enormous uncertainty as the world faces the impacts of the COVID-19 virus pandemic.

Looking after your health and wellbeing

At Lutheran Super, our primary concern is the health and wellbeing of our members and their loved ones. We join with the national health authorities to encourage you to take the necessary precautions to stay safe and healthy.

If you are feeling unwell, more information about being tested is available here.

Details about protecting yourself and others are available here

If you have any concerns about Covid-19 and need advice, please call the Coronavirus Health Information Line 1800 020 080.

Looking after your super

The Lutheran Super management team and our administrator, Mercer, have taken necessary steps to ensure that all services are continuing uninterrupted, while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our staff.

Please be aware that there has been a significant increase in the number of calls to our Helpline, causing longer than usual delays in answering calls. We ask for your patience and understanding as our Helpline consultants manage calls as quickly as possible.

Remember that if you would like to make any changes to your super, you can use your online Lutheran Super account for many of these requests.

Investment markets

In response to the World Health Organisation categorising the COVID-19 virus as a global pandemic, investment markets have been extremely volatile in recent days and weeks.

As the world shifts its focus on the health and safety of friends and family, the Fund’s investment advisers and experts are carefully monitoring international and local markets to help protect your retirement outcomes. They will continue to monitor the volatility of market and adjust investment strategies where necessary.

Superannuation is a long-term investment and is designed to weather short-term investment market changes. The changes to the market may prompt you to reconsider your investment strategy, however it is important to understand how your super is already invested before considering changes.

If you are considering an investment switch, we recommend you seek financial advice before taking action. You can speak to a licensed financial adviser at no cost by calling the Helpline on 1800 635 796.
